Orange Regional Arts Foundation
Established in 1984, our key focus is to provide ongoing support for the Arts in our district. This support ensures that Orange continues to be a shining example of a pro-active arts-rich community with a diverse cultural life.
What does the Foundation do?
OUR VISION
We seek to foster the growth and appreciation of the arts, especially among the younger generation and to develop partnerships within the community to provide greater access to the arts.
OUR COMMITMENT
The Foundation works in partnership with the established cultural institutions (Regional Gallery, Civic Theatre, Library, Conservatorium and Museum), arts education and the development of local artists and arts projects.
OUR MISSION
Since ORAF was established in 1984 it has given more than $850,000 to the Arts sector. Funds are collected via membership, bequests and donations and are invested. Grants totalling about $38,000 per annum are drawn from the monies earned on the investment. It is the aim of the Foundation to grow the amount invested to over $1,000,000.
Aims & Funding Principles
The Orange Regional Arts Foundation aims to support and encourage the development and enjoyment of the Arts in the Orange Region. The grants made across all program areas are underpinned by a commitment to excellence, encourage innovation and have a lasting impact. We support organisations, programs and individuals in our region who are outstanding in their field or have the potential to develop and make a significant contribution to the Arts in the future. The long term sustainability of the project is an important consideration. We look to fund projects that will continue to have an impact well beyond the period of our grant and will benefit the community as a whole.
The focus of the foundation covers a broad artistic spectrum:
Visual Arts including drawing, painting, film and ceramics
Heritage including history
The Performing Arts including music, theatre and dance
Literature including poetry
